The Odd Mondays Series presents the documentary film
"From Swastika To Jim Crow"
African-American Civil Rights Lawyer James McWilliams (also our guest presenter in January, 2005) who will show and talk about the PBS documentary “From Swastika to Jim Crow”. The film deals with the relationship between German-Jewish refugee professors, the Black community and the Southern Black colleges.
James McWilliams grew up in segregated Birmingham, Alabama, and
attended Talladega College, which is described in the video "From Swastika To
Jim Crow," from 1950 to 1954. and then served in the US Army . He
attended the University of Wisconsin Law School where he and his wife along
with many others formed a civil rights group that supported southern
civil rights activists.

Susan received her MSW, MS, and teaching credential from San Francisco State University. She has a BA in Social Sciences and Music
from the University of California at Berkeley.
